Meet our CEO

Tylene Henry, MBA

Tylene Henry is an entrepreneur,

powerful change agent, and

staunch advocate for

socioeconomic equality. Tylene

has been referred to as the

"follow-up queen" as a result of

practicing what she calls the 

"3 Ps"- professionalism, patience,

and persistence in developing relationships and providing access to the resources necessary to create a positive impact on the communities she serves.


Tylene owns and operates Ujima Services (MBE, DBE), a strategic business planning and development consulting firm where she serves the private, public, and governmental sectors.  She is also the president of the Detroit chapter of the  National Association of Black Women in Construction, serves on  Michigan congresswoman Brenda Lawrence’s Women’s Advisory Committee, civic engagement committee chair for the Independent Business Association, and is a volunteer facilitator with Youth For Global Health and Social Justice. 


Ms. Henry has a unique ability to create, leverage, and facilitate transformational leadership and developmental programs that integrate youth, budding professionals, and executives into cutting-edge and results-driven collaborations.  Tylene is proudly committed to social equity and she  insists that diversity, equity, and inclusion is a lifelong journey that requires the ongoing development of meaningful relationships, measurement, and accountability  for all community and organizational stakeholders.

In June of 2019 Tylene founded June9teen, collaboration to empower all citizens on  social, environmental, political, and economic disparities and roads to equity and inclusion . Providing expert panelist to address topics that directly address roads to collaborative solutions.
