Juneteenth is a celebration of mental freedom for me. It was not until recently that I began to truly explore the history and heartache associated with this day. I am encouraged by the conversations and celebrations that have been transpiring around me. I participated in a Juneteenth celebration at Charles H Wright Museum for the first time Saturday. It was amazing to see community members come together to celebrate our ancestors and one another. I am also very proud to have participated in Congresswoman Brenda L Lawrence’s round table discussion “Advancing Minority Women-Owned Businesses in Michigan” where featured speaker National Director of Commerce’s Minority Business Development Agency Henry Childs II, dropped some valuable nuggets to help us to execute with excellence. NABWIC is appreciative of Director Childs willingness to bring valuable resources to us at the Opportunity Zone Summit today. Juneteenth is a celebration of new beginnings and opportunity to continue to build sustainable communities together. #freedom #juneteenth #buildingsustainablecommunities #womeninconstruction #blackwomeninconstruction #smallbusiness #growth #abundance #letsgofurthertogether #NABWIC #TMD #TYLENEHENRY #themarathoncontinues
